Original research · Version 1.0

US Semiconductor Company & Project Reference

A maintained company-level reference connecting major semiconductor manufacturers in ACR's industrial-investment coverage with primary sources and archive depth.

Last reviewed: 2026-09-08. Values remain tied to their stated source and project or regulatory stage. Missing values are not estimated.

Source domains

Distinct source domains visible in the current research table. Archive indexes can also contain source labels retained inside the underlying articles.

Review schedule

Monthly entity review and event-driven updates after major fab, CHIPS or corporate-capital announcements.

The review cadence is part of the dataset methodology. Material events can trigger an earlier update.

Version control

v1.0

Last reviewed 2026-09-08. Historical observations are preserved rather than silently rewritten where context matters.

What the research currently shows

The reference distinguishes US manufacturing relevance from simple US revenue exposure.

Entity pages are intended to preserve programme continuity as investment values and project stages change over multiple years.

Questions this dataset is built to answer

  • Which companies have material US semiconductor manufacturing footprints?
  • Which companies are expanding through fabs, packaging, materials or R&D rather than only design activity?
  • Which primary sources establish the current programme rather than a historical announcement?

Manufacturing footprint

A fab, packaging, materials or other material semiconductor manufacturing operation in the United States.

Entity reference

A permanent newsroom record connecting dated reporting and research to one company.

Primary-source basis

Company filing, company announcement or government award/implementation record used to establish the manufacturing programme.

Source hierarchy

  1. Primary official sources, company filings, regulator publications and operator disclosures are preferred for factual dataset records.
  2. High-quality wire reporting or specialist trade reporting with an explicit attributable source trail may be used where it adds a dated physical-project fact not available in a practical first-party source.
  3. Secondary press, estimates and promotional claims are not promoted into dataset facts unless their status and provenance are clearly labelled.

Data quality controls

  • Observation date and publication date are kept distinct where the underlying fact is time-sensitive.
  • Announced, planned, under-construction and operating states are not collapsed into one status.
  • Parent programme IDs distinguish child-site milestones from wider investment programmes so nested values are not silently double counted.
  • Reported results, management guidance, analyst opinions and policy targets remain separate evidence classes.
  • Missing values remain missing rather than being filled with inferred or modelled estimates.
  • Historical observations preserve earlier stated values and milestones rather than silently replacing them with the newest figure.
  • Material revisions are recorded so later updates do not erase the historical basis of an earlier observation.

Dataset methodology

Scope

Semiconductor companies with material US manufacturing investment represented in ACR's permanent industrial research.

Inclusion criteria

A company must have a persistent entity record supported by ACR reporting, a permanent dataset or a first-party source.

Exclusions and limitations

Companies with only sales exposure to the United States and no material manufacturing or industrial-policy relevance are excluded from this reference set.

Revision policy

The reference set is reviewed as companies, regulators and institutions gain or lose material relevance. Connected-coverage counts and latest-coverage dates update from the publication archive, while first-party reference sources remain attached to each entity record.
